Bunny Berigan: Moustached Individual of Distinction and Prowess

Bunny BeriganĀ (Rowland Bernard Berigan) (November 2, 1908 – June 2, 1942) was one of the greatest trumpeters in the world of jazz. While individuals of moustached persuasion usually refrain from blowing their own horn, we’re proud that Bunny did it so well, achieving great recognition as both a band leader and studio musician. After an illustrious career he succumbed to cirrhosis of the liver at the young age of 33.

Luckily for you, the recipient of this missive, Bunny’s music lives on. In fact, having escaped the death grip of the Copyright Office, much of it is available free of charge. As your adviser in Moustached American Music, I suggest that you visit the following link and listen to Bunny’s big hit “I Can’t Get Started Without You.”
